The CPS®-3000 is a cost-effective, reliable, and efficient utility-scale energy storage inverter suitable for outdoor configurations. Featuring a highly-efficient three-level topology, Dynapower’s CPS® inverters are air-cooled and designed for four-quadrant energy storage applications in both grid-tied and microgrid applications. Multiple CPS® units can be paralleled together to scale to meet the needs of any energy storage installation.
Dynapower can supply from standalone CPS® inverter system to complete fully-integrated energy storage solutions. CPS® inverters can be supplied with MV transformers to easily integrate customer supplied battery systems into any network. Alternatively, Dynapower can supply a fully-integrated solution with it’s CPS®-i platform. Outdoor rated CPS® inverters are enclosed in a NEMA 3R containers that can be moved with a forklift and allow for placement on gravel or concrete pylons, creating installation savings.

KEY CPS® TECHNOLOGIES
BLACK START — In the event of a complete system power outage, Dynapower’s patented Black Start restores power to the facility without the need for external power. Dynapower’s Black Start technology can start distribution networks even with transformer magnetizing currents that exceed the power rating of the inverters. Multiple CPS® units can be restarted at once.
E COMP— A Volt Var function that provides immediate and automatic voltage support to the grid.
F COMP— A Hz-Watt function that provides immediate and automatic frequency support to the grid.
DYNAMIC TRANSFER™ — Dynapower’s proprietary patented Dynamic Transfer™ algorithm monitors grid stability and, upon detecting a grid disturbance, disconnects from the grid and transitions to stand-alone battery backup power mode on the load connection. The transition is seamless to the critical loads and supports 100% phase imbalance in UF mode.

TWO MODES OF OPERATION
The CPS®-3000 provides two modes of operation — Grid-Tied (PQ-mode) and Stand-Alone (UF mode). In the Grid-Tied mode, the patent-pending CPS®-3000 controls the AC output real power (P) and reactive power (Q). In Stand-Alone mode, it controls the AC output voltage (U) and frequency (F). The system can be started in either mode and the transfer between modes is done dynamically. Advanced controls schemes for multi-unit and microgrid applications are available.
Dynapower’s state of the art control and monitoring platform provides operators with both local and remote operation of the system. In the remote operating mode, a communication link provides autonomous operator control via Ethernet. For local control, Dynapower can provide an Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) for error set commands and full system display status.
COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEM MONITORING
The patent-pending CPS®-3000 provides full system status information including AC output real & reactive power, AC output voltage & frequency and DC battery voltage and DC current readings to the remote operator through feedback signals or through the communication link (via an RTU or PLC). It has an onboard monitoring system with error history and grid fault data capture. System operating information is displayed on the OIT in both local and remote modes of operation.
