Remanufactured Rectifiers

Dynapower and Rapid Power remanufactured rectifiers offer excellent performance for a fraction of the cost of new equipment. These units carry a factory-backed one (1) year warranty that equals or exceeds competitors’ warranties on new equipment.

Our remanufactured units should not be confused with used or refurbished equipment.  Dynapower remanufactured rectifiers are more than a coat of fresh paint.

The following procedures are typically performed under our remanufacturing program:

Incoming Inspection: To be considered a candidate for remanufacture, the unit must be of a quality design, have a sound frame not significantly weakened by corrosion, and be in overall reasonably good condition.

Incoming Testing: The power supply is tested to determine exactly what needs to be done to return the unit to efficient and operational condition. This includes testing all circuit boards, interlocks, and protective systems.

Remanufacturing: The unit is dismantled and the remanufacturing process begins. Typically, this involves:

  • Structural: Dirt, loose paint, and corrosion are removed from the panels and metal base frame. The panels and base frame are then repaired as required.
  • Cooling:  The cooling fans and motors are tested to ensure proper operation then repaired or replaced as required. In the case of liquid-cooled units, all piping and associated fittings are checked and replaced if needed.
  • Switchgear: If the contactor or circuit breaker is in good condition, a new contact set is installed; if damage to the contactor or circuit breaker is found, a sales engineer will contact the customer to discuss repair or replacement options.
  • Transformers: Transformers passing our initial incoming inspection are power washed to remove dirt and chemical debris and then oven dried. These transformers are then fully tested before re-installing for rectifier duty. If the transformer does not pass our electrical inspection or is found to have damage, brittle insulation, or any indication of overheating upon arrival, a sales engineer will contact the customer to discuss repair or replacement options.
  • Semi-Conductors: Dynapower uses only hermetically-sealed semi-conductors (thyristors & diodes) with JEDEC ratings  All semi-conductors are visually inspected, cleaned, and tested to ensure reliability and performance. Faulty semi-conductors are replaced as necessary.
  • Remote control: When specified, a new remote panel is provided with pre-tested meters, push buttons, and pilot lights.

Final Testing: After re-assembly, the remanufactured unit is tested at full load. The same measurements and checklists used on our new equipment are used with the remanufactured unit.

The result of this program is a unit whose performance can be relied upon at a price that meets your budget requirements.
