EUE-7-100150000
- DC Overcurrent Protection Circuit
This item replaces
EU-10015E
Description
The
circuit function is to monitor dc current flowing through an
instrument shunt with a 50 mv drop at rated current, and to
transfer a relay contact when a preset input level has been
exceeded. The trip action may be delayed from .15 to 40 sec by a
trimpot adjustment. This allows the circuit to ‘ride
through’ transient overloads. The circuit is not sensitive to the polarity of the
input signal. The addition of a jumper connection to the circuit's
terminal strip will latch up the relay contacts. The contacts
are reset by interrupting power to the circuit or by opening
the latch jumper. The circuit may also be used to detect a current
imbalance between two shunts.

Adjustment
Functions
BIAS
- Adjusts the base level
output of the shunt signal amplifier. This normally is set to
zero with an open circuit input. It is a factory calibration and should not be altered.
SYMMETRY
- Sets
the symmetry of the trip levels of bipolar input signals. It is
a factory calibration and should not be altered.
TRIP
- Sets
the trip level of the circuit. Turning the adjustment clockwise
raises the trip current.
